When we planted our first Arabica trees in Ka'u on the slopes of Mauna Loa we committed ourselves to producing specialty coffee that demands a lot of work. We started with Caturra, later we added Typica and Bourbon to broaden the taste palette. Cooler temperatures on the southern tip of the Big Island of Hawai'i provide a sustained growing season producing just the right sweetness. While the volcanic soil contributes to our coffee's unique flavor profile, but only with a lot of care and attention to detail.
